Excited to bring you more new music from WFMU’s live sessions! This time with Foot Village’s 2nd performance for the station. Foot Village perform songs both from ‘Anti-Magic’ and ‘Make Memories’ (including a very different version of “1600 Dolla Bill”) along with both tracks from their “Lovers With Iraqis” / “Totally Tween” 7”. In addition to these alternate version of songs that you may be familiar with, the band also performed a one-time improv called “In The Location of Marley”, which is performed with samples from this classic vlogger review of ‘Make Memories’.

Impose conducted this nice interview with clipping. all about their recent signing to Sub Pop. If you are curious about a bunch of intricate little details on how a deal like that goes down, this is the interview for you. If not, well at least this cool photo of clipping., Eugene Mirman, and, uh, me, you friendly neighborhood Deathbomb salesman, came out of it.

Also, while we’re here, very kind of Potholes In My Blog to include clipping. in their 5 Hip-Hop Acts You Need To Know article!

Here is a song from way back in the Deathbomb Arc catalog; an appropriate one for Father’s Day. Well, unless you actually want a song that expresses positive feelings towards fathers. This track by Rose For Bohdan (pre-Foot Village band) called “Friends Forever” is about as bleak of a song about dads as it could get.  But maybe I should just let the lyrics speak for themselves:

There is a demon that I’m too afraid to fight.
There’s no monster like a father
never lets you kill on your own
and if you follow, the path will swalow
and if you stray, you’ll be alone.
All through the night it’s like we’re in a fight.
Once I go to bed, don’t fall asleep.
Still, I have a dream. Takes place on the ceiling;
replacing what I feel; replacing what is real.
Do the demise.
“Love will tear us apart again.”
Swing from your neck and do like the boys.
Do like the girls. Girls do it with pills.

This incredibly dark and very intricate noise rock album is free to download from our bandcamp or just $3 to get an actual cd.

The Free Music Archive has posted the entirety of Black Pus’ performance on WFMU both to stream and as a free download. 6 tracks of madness, all absolutely vital. The playfulness of the Black Pus live sets is an essential part of the act, and this is a great way to enjoy it on the daily.
The Black Pus 12” coming out on Deathbomb should be upon us very soon. We have all the vinyl in hand and it sounds fucking amazing. Just taking the time it needs with the hand-screened art (by Brian Chippendale himself!) to make sure this is an incredible looking album as well. You can pre-order the album here, fyi. It comes with an immediate digital download, so you can hear it before the vinyl reaches you.
