Nice surprise this morning to discover that both of Death Grips’ remixes of Bjork are finally available to stream on soundcloud. Just as one would expect, this remixes take Bjork’s otherworldly vocals and lay them over some totally fucked up music. I had hoped for some Death Grips guest vocals on them, but alas….
These remixes follow in an ancient Bjorkian pattern of popular musical extremists doing remixes for her. In more recent years, there was the Black Pus remix of Bjork, and then there are my favorites from the 90s, all of Alec Empire’s super deep and dark ones. Foot Village actually did a cover of Alec Empire’s Bjork remixes!
