Deathbomb Arc

One of our favorite French music sites, Amour & Discipline, has published an article about the Clipping and their cassette coming out soon on Deathbomb Arc. Of course, no website that we here would call a favorite does anything the expected way, and their article about Clipping doesn’t disappoint. Despite having members of some well established acts, like Captain Ahab, Clipping is a relatively new band. Amour & Discipline uses their article as a opportunity to discuss the blogging world’s current obsession with new bands. As someone that runs a label and promotes lots of well established bands, I am very familiar with this phenomenon. Sometimes it seems like sticking with a project, developing a sound, and working hard is actually a curse when it comes to getting press coverage these days. A kind of “Oh, that’s so last year” type of attitude. I’m glad to know I’m not the only one that has noticed it. Amour & Discipline are talking about a new band though, so how does this all play out? Instead of just blindly pushing hype out into the world, they walk the reader through their own experience of discovering the band. Step by step. Leaving it for you, the reader, to be the judge. They also share tons of video and audio content from Clipping, making it a nice summary of the bands life so far, even if that is just about one year long.
